Austrian Style Furniture was founded in 1996 as a partnership by Johann Poschl and his son Daniel Poschl. The intention was to handcraft fine furniture with an old world flair which included hand painting, hand carving etc. Originally starting out as a very small operation with a small facility of 1500 square feet. After a couple years in business, the demand for our furniture increased and along with that came the request for cabinetry such as kitchens, built-ins etc. The father and son team decided to grow with the demand and the size of our shop was doubled. Johann being in charge of creativity and production and Daniel working closely with our clients to complete their vision. Austrian Style Furniture flourished into a full millwork company, offering products ranging from cabinetry to interior doors. Along with the expansion of our products, we also expanded geographically to the Vancouver and Whistler area.
Over time the production of furniture decreased and early in the year 2000, considering that there were very few pieces of furniture manufactured, Johann and Daniel realized that Austrian Style Furniture was no longer a suitable name for the company and Austrian Style Furniture became Austrian Style Woodwork Ltd. The company was continuing to grow, expanding to the Washington, Seattle area. In 2003 demand was at its peak and yet again the size of our facility was at maximum capacity. In order to satisfy demand, Daniel and Johann made the decision to expand the workshop, not just in size but also in equipment, purchasing only the finest European equipment that allowed Austrian Style Woodwork Ltd. to produce products such as cabinets, doors, windows, mouldings, etc. There was no product that Austrian Style Woodwork Ltd. would not have the capability or capacity to manufacture. Just as we did since inception, we continued to also put our focus on building strong partnerships with Architects, Builders and Homeowners all over the West coast of North America. We consider ourselves very fortunate and honored having been able to work on the most exclusive residences of BC, Alberta, Washington, California and Montana.
Austrian Style Woodwork Ltd. is now also able to offer an all-Aluminum window line which includes curtain wall systems, lift and slide doors etc. This line of windows is manufactured in Germany with the exception of the glass.
